grenadine

Had a craving for a Shirley Temple earlier this week so I took advantage of a Boston Pizza lunch and ordered one.

Turns out: Not as delicious as I remembered them. Really, it just tasted like orange juice and 7Up.

Disappointed, I bought my own grenadine and mixed it myself with some ginger ale.

Muuuuch better. This is closer to what I expected at lunch today. Guess BP doesn’t want to waste their grenadine on customers.

I just bought Angry Birds Halloween

…despite the fact that I haven’t finished the original Angry Birds yet.

It’s not my fault! The studio that makes it has put out so many free updates for Angry Birds that I can’t keep up. Don’t get me wrong, the free updates are great! But after so much free content long after I paid my initial dollar for the game, I think the company deserve another 99 cents from me. Even for what really could have been part of the existing game.

Seriously though, what game launches and then continually pushes out big free updates that increase the game’s length? The game’s now over twice the original length due to their free content updates. It’s crazy awesome.

That being said, I wouldn’t keep buying one every season. I don’t want a Christmas edition.
More free updates (please) while you work on real game improvements for Angry Birds 2, which I’ll gladly pay for.

First off, you should watch the opening number from last week’s ABDC:

L makes me watch ABDC but I’ll admit that I was impressed. If I had seen something like this as a kid, I might have tried breaking instead of all the sports my parents forced me into. Probably would have liked it more, too.

Related but barely: Lil Mama was pretty hot in that number but apparently she’s super young.

Ever since TalkRadar 92, I can’t get this damn song out of my head:

I really didn’t want to like it but it seems I have no choice in the matter.

chaos rising

I beat the last boss in Dawn of War II expansion, Chaos Rising tonight. He stumbles, talks and talks and… the game crashes to desktop. I launch the game again, reload my save and… I have to redo the last mission. And that wasn’t an easy mission. Probably took me 40 minutes – 20 minutes just to beat the final guy at the end. So frustrating.

Looking through online forums, lots of others have had this issue and even after replaying it, the same thing happens. Looks like I’ll have to wait for a patch before I re-beat the game.

The worst part? I remember this exact same issue happening in the original Dawn of War II. I beat the final boss, the game crashed and I waited months for a patch to fix the issue before I re-beat it (for the achievement of completing the campaign).

It’s frustrating when developers let the same mistakes and bugs plague subsequent releases.
Reminds me of the fail that was the first four Fallout 3 DLC packs.

pro bowling

Went bowling with coworkers last night.

First ball of the first frame, I had too much momentum upon release and was teetering on one foot, about to fall on my face over the line. So I put my foot down past the line to steady myself, slipped on the super-waxed lane and fell onto my butt. The group of cougars in the lane beside us all cheered for my failure.

It was pretty pro.

the first of… many?

Alright, it appears as though I’ve got things set up here. No real plan as of yet. Just wanted a place to be able to write and play around when I feel like it. Also wanted something new as I was pretty bored of the old stuff.
